Carbs After Exercise? Maybe Not


We often hear that the thing to do after exercise is replenish those carbs. Here's an interesting story reported in a blog at the Los Angeles Times: Hungry after a workout? You might want to skimp on the carbs. I haven't read the original study in the December Journal of Applied Physiology, but as the reporter describes it, groups of men ate meals of different compositions after a workout, and it turned out that insulin sensitivity was enhanced most after the low-carb meal.
