Fat Fallacies


Ten years ago, eating low fat meant restricting our intake of fat regardless of its source. Since then, we've learned that not all fats are bad for us. Indeed, some fats have a positive effect on our health, such as the much-touted omega-3 fatty acids found in nuts, seeds and fish. In the past decade, we've learned that trans fats, far from delivering us from the 'evil' of saturated fats, are the worst kind of fat, elevating bad cholesterol and lowering levels of good cholesterol. So before undertaking any kind of low-fat regimen, find out some of the common misconceptions about fat.
