Exercise Of The Month: Sumo Squat
This is one heck of an exercise move for really working your inner thighs. I hate doing the abduction and adduction machines and so I have turned to the Sumo squat. You can do this with body weight or add dumbbells for a challenge. I use a dumbbell and place it between my legs. You will quickly find this move using all the muscles in your legs. The trick is to make sure to keep legs wider than shoulder width apart and feet pointing out. You almost make a straight line from toes of right foot to toes of left foot. See the picture for foot placement. When you squat down legs should be farenough apart so that at the bottom of squat your legs form a 90 degree angle without having having the knees go over the ankles. I really think you will love this. For beginners try doing 2 sets of 12-15 body weight squats. For more advanced lifters use a dumbbell heavy enough to perform 8-10 reps.
