Week 1 Of Figure Training Complete


I am on the 10 week mark until my figure competition and training is going great. Workouts are really intense and heavy. Over the past week I have already increased my 1 rep max by quite a bit in most of my exercises. Weights are heavy enough where I can perform only 6-8 reps per set and I have my workouts divided up by upper and lower days. Since I am pretty active all day long I am keeping cardio at 25 minute increments at a moderate intensity. I love running and jogging too much to stay at a low intensity workout. I am doing this 3 times per week. My diet has changed quite a bit, carbs are pretty low at around 60 g per day and my protein is way up there. I feel like I should have a protein shake attached to me at all times! Right now I am getting in around 130 g of protein per day which was a real challenge for me. Sugars are out of my life and so is alcohol. I thought that giving up wine would be the challenge but it is pretty easy actually. I just crave chocolate from time to time! So am I seeing results? Yes I am! I have lost a bit of fat already and I feel great. My stomach is a bit more defined and so is the rest. They are subtle of course but I feel like change is on its way I just have to keep fueled and motivated! To help me keep track of my progress I am taking pictures every other week (I think every week is a bit too much). I will take my second picture on Sunday. My goal is to lose about 5% body fat and kick ass on building definition throughout my body. I think that my back and shoulders are going to be my hardest parts but no doubt I can push myself! This weekend is the South Carolina Figure Championships, so we are heading there Saturday morning. I will try to take picture to give everyone some insight into the whole figure world! I am also meeting with the outfit designer next weekend where I will get my suits in order.
